Funeral services for Sybil Cummings, 73, of Needham will be held Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2 P.M. from Needham Assembly of God with Rev. David Moore, Rev. Jimmy Moore, and Rev. Willie Long, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Brightwater Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 9 P.M. at Needham Assembly.
Mrs. Cummings passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years Jack E. Cummings of Needham; sons Terrell Cummings (Judy) of Ararat; Tracy Cummings (Cindy) of Chatom; daughter Twila Long (Willie, Jr.) of Sims Chapel; brothers Richard A. Whatley of Maynardville, TN; Singleton Earl Shoemaker (Barbara) of Sebastopol, MS; Singleton Shoemaker, Jr. (Katie) of Butler; 11 grandchildren Lamar Cummings, Larry Cummings, B.J. Long, Brandon Long, Zach Long, Daniel Long, Lisianna Emmett, De’ana Busby, Jacque Long, LaShay Long, and Alison Long; great grandchildren Sarah Cummings, Abi Smith, Trevor Busby, Kieran Busby, Brenan Busby, Bree Busby, Shawna Busby, Christopher Landon Cummings, Thomas Kade Cummings, Haleigh Lammons, Bailey Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her father R.A. Whatley; parents Singleton and Willie Mae Whatley Shoemaker; sister Edna Earl Whatley; and grandson Christopher Cummings.
Pallbearers are grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers are granddaughters.
